This July 1st the hottest Canada Day bash in Vancouver will be taking place on the famous Deadman’s Island inside of Stanley Park. For the first time ever we are opening the gates of Deadman's Island which will be transformed into the ultimate summer party all day long this Canada Day.
Seven of Vancouver's hottest Indie bands will be performing LIVE against the backdrop of downtown Vancouver and the beautiful Coal Harbour all afternoon long blended with hot grooves of DJ AJ-47 spinning throughout the day.

The festival, now in its 21st year, features 20 uncommonly passionate and brilliant musicians playing over 10 days right in Vancouver’s back yard the auditorium at Crofton House School in Kerrisdale and opening with a FREE outdoor performance at the Reflection Pond at Simon Fraser University.
Summer Combustion positions all musicians as equals. There are no headliners, no “opening acts,” no superstars. This festival brings the serious, the colourful, the inspired, the magnificent. This year sees the return of Angela Cheng (piano), Denise Djokic (cello) and Maria Lambros (viola) and the arrival of artists such as Martin Fröst (clarinet), DaXun Zhang (double bass), Inon Barnatan (piano) and the Jupiter String Quartet.
